CLAYARCH GIMHAE MUSEUM – S. KOREA

Stage (Pier / constellation) was made specifically for the central entry hall for the opening exhibition of the ClayArch, Gemhae Museum, Gemhae, South Korea in 2006. The installation consists of 32 ceramic parts and a wooden “scaffolding,” measuring 720 cm (14 ft.) wide. It is oriented towards the east. Continuing on the theme, as explored earlier in Status (Iconostase), the seemingly unstable wooden construction becomes a metaphor for our need to construct “reality” in spite of the inevitable instability of this attempt.
